Heather Schwartz Sanderson, Chief Legal Officer for Franco Signor, wrote commentary on CMS’ recent announcement that it will be maintaining the $1,000 threshold for liability insurance for 2016 and what it means for the agency’s stated intention to investigate similar threshold changes for workers’ compensation. Schwartz Sanderson explains, “While CMS acknowledges that a $750 reporting threshold is in place for workers’ compensation, CMS seems to be acknowledging [in its Annual Report to Congress] that a similar in-depth analysis of thresholds should be pursued and implemented for workers’ compensation and no-fault. We hope to see a similar analysis report for workers’ compensation and no-fault in the future.”
