In regulatory news:

An initial draft of the Louisiana Commission on Preventing Opioid Abuse recommendations due to the Legislature on April 1st was circulated yesterday. The 59-page document includes chapters on adopting the Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain, alternatives to opioid medications, and prescriber training needs, among other issues. The document does not include any recommendation of a closed formulary for workers’ compensation, a controversial suggestion that was made but voted down in the meetings leading up the draft.
