In research news:

York Risk Services Group and Energi Insurance Services, Inc. recently released the results of a study that quantifies the significant positive impact of nurse case management and PPOs in reducing the overall costs and duration of workers’ compensation claims. The study reviewed two sets of closed claims, one from a transportation industry workers’ comp program administered by a national insurer and one from York and their partners in which York assigned a nurse case manager to every injury.  The results revealed that the involvement of a nurse case manager resulted in a difference of 231.2 days of disability (316.9 national carrier v. 85.7 with York services/nurse case manager.)
