In safety news:

LWCC released a bulletin with cold weather safety tips geared toward Louisiana’s specific climate. LWCC notes: “Because Louisiana’s winter temperatures can be milder than average at times, workers can be ill-prepared when a sudden cold snap occurs. Prolonged periods of extreme cold are rare in Louisiana; however, cold snaps are most frequent in the month of February.” The company recommends taking breaks in warm shelters, using the “buddy system” to spot signs of hypothermia, and training employees about driving in inclement weather.
