Northrop Grumman Corporation, a global security firm specializing in aircraft out of Lake Charles, has been cited by OSHA for eight serious health violations. Inspectors discovered that workers painting and conducting paint removal from aircraft parts were being overexposed to methylene chloride and hexavalent chromium. The “unacceptable” lack of employee protection in the form of respiratory protection and equipment in this regard led to $42,000 in penalties.
