OSHA issued nearly $60,000 in penalties to a recycling plant in Miami for lead-contaminated lunch tables and electrocution risks, among other violations. Allied Metals LLC was hit with 17 violations in total, all deemed “serious” in nature including: exposing workers to falls from a loading dock that was missing railings; amputation hazards from cutting machinery that lacked guards; electrocution risks; and failing to provide training to workers exposed to hazardous materials such as lead. Proposed penalties equal $57,600.
