OSHA is planning an app for employees to report workplace safety problems via smartphone. According to initial reports, Workers Lab of Oakland, CA, is partnering with SeeClickFix to build an app that will allow employees to report a variety of workplace problems, not just those having to do with safety. The app would route problems to the appropriate agency, whether it be state or federal, or a safety or wage complaint and send it directly to the suggested agencies. SeeClickFix is already behind a somewhat similar venture that has allowed 2.5 million complaints for municipal issues like potholes and graffiti to be reported to local authorities.
