Last November, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed into law significant protections for World Trade Center rescue, recovery, and clean-up workers, including the reopening of the World Trade Center Registry at the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board. The deadline for registrations is September 11, 2014. Those who participated in the rescue, recovery and clean-up of the World Trade Center between Sept. 11, 2001, and Sept. 11, 2002, should promptly register their service with the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board whether or not they are sick or injured. This will preserve their rights to future benefits, should they ever need them. Read the full details from WorkCompWire here.
